Sharing Perspectives
What does the future hold for marriage equality and immigration reform? What can San Francisco schools do to help close the opportunity gap in a place where income disparities are growing faster than in any other city? How can funders help social change leaders navigate the challenges of leading both their organizations and social movements?
These are just some of the questions we’ve been discussing at the Haas, Jr. Fund with our grantees and other colleagues. These are critical issues, and ones we can’t solve alone.
With the launch of our blog, Perspectives, we want to add another dimension to the way we communicate:
- We want to share more of what we’re thinking and learning.
- We want to reflect on emerging challenges and issues we are seeing in our fields and in philanthropy, including what’s working, what is not and what we still don’t know.
- We want to invite you to comment and share your experience, your insights and your expertise.
Perspectives is a place where our staff can post their thoughts and ideas on some of the questions at the heart of our work. And over time, we hope it also becomes a place where you will share your thoughts and questions.
We know we don’t have all the answers, and we’re excited to have a new place for these critical questions and issues to play out in a way that will ultimately lead to greater understanding. The more perspectives we hear, the more likely we are to find solutions.
